*Sneeze*
Anyhoo .... *sigh* It's another Monday. The weekend was lovely ... I was sad to see my parents leave. I will see them over Christmas though for 10 days, and they will be back down in February I believe ... for the ds's hockey game. I can live with that !
Yesterday was a VERY lazy day. I took the ds to see "Flushed Away". The theatre was packed ... I am not kidding. The movie ranked very low in my opinion ... and I love movies, so my opinion matters!
We then went to the scrapbook store ... where I purchased the stuff to make my holiday cards. Uh ... $75.00 later we left. I knew I should have just gone to the Hallmark store to buy my cards ... would have been A LOT cheaper ... Anyone want me to send you one ? I'm kidding ! I made 7 of them yesterday, and they are all different. I don't know that I want to make all 40 of them ... oh well, lesson learned I guess. Maybe I will do it again, only I will start earlier in the year !
Well ... I have some stuff to do ... adios ...
Friday, November 24, 2006
oh goodness ...
Well ... I should go take a nap ... but the ds has hockey practice in 2 hours ... and I don't want to be a crab ... there's time to sleep in tomorrow.
I did a little shopping on line today on my lunch ... a couple of Christmas gifts ... and some stuff for me ... I deserve some stuff, right ? LOL !
The day after ...
I had a wonderful day with my family yesterday. We threw around the football in the backyard ... we had a wonderful meal ... and just spent time together. * I am thankful for my family everyday. *
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I will be back later ...

Just another manic ...
What a long hellish night ... the ds had hockey practice, and I had a lot of housework to get done. Well ... I didn't get much done ... the house is clean and all ... but I wanted to get much more accomplished. Big Deal. I give up. I don't care.
I bought 2 new movies last night ... "You, Me, and Dupree" and "Accepted" ... Both are wicked funny ... I needed that - a few laughs ...
... more later ... I have stuff to do ... ciao!

I woke up ...
I went in the bathroom to get ready for work, and cranked up some music. I was a singing fool this morning. I sing EVERY morning but I did it more so today. Today's choice of music was actually Carrie Underwood. Surprising, I know!
I watched Prison Break last night - only 1 more show until the fall finale. I HATE these "fall finale's" ... dumb I tell you. Well, it was still a good episode.
I started a new book last night. Some new Jackie Collins drama-filled smut book. LOL ! So far so good.
Well ... enough for now. I heard your yawns over the speakers on my computer ...

Nada ...
- Balanced my check book
- Checked out E-Bay
- Ragged on 'Nifer for being a SW !
- Sent 4 new emails
- Sent 1 text message
- Visited the Enclave
wow. exciting. NOT !
I need a haircut. I haven't cut it in months. I tell myself it's ok to grow it out, let it get long again, but I need a change. BTW, I do this all the time. I say I want a change, but I really don't. I like being able to just throw it up in a half-pony or stick it in a RS hat ... so don't pay any attention.

Another Monday !
I did NOT want to wake up this morning, but I did ... obviously.
The ds came home yesterday - with an attitude! We had a birthday party to go to. It was at the Gymnastics Center at the University ... OMG ! It was so fun. I even took a turn on the obstacle course, whew ... I can understand why the kids were tired.
I am really into this show, Brothers & Sisters, on ABC. Last night's episode, was another great show. I was happy to see things work out in their family (yes, I realize it's not a reality show, but I still get involved in the storyline).
*yawn* I really wish I could go home, climb the stairs, and crawl back into bed under the warm covers. *slaps herself* I can't think like that ... the day has just begun !
Anyone have anything exciting to share ?
** Also, would like to share my happiness with the Patriots beating the Pack ... someone up above has answered my prayers yet again. **

Surprise !
Novy makes a surpise appearance ... lol !
Hockey went really last night. The ds went with his father for the weekend ... he'll be home in time to go to a friends birthday party. YAY! *Note: take advil beforehand*
I went home, made some soup, watched a little tv, and fell asleep. Sounds super exciting doesn't it? Uh, yeah ... it's not.
I'm still a little tired ... I got some work to get done today, I have busted through a lot already, but it's still early.
Have a great weekend!

WTH ?!?
B-A-N-A-N-A's
Watched my Grey's Anatomy last night. It was good, as usual. No complaints from me today, well, no complaints about the show.
I woke up to the phone ringing at 2:37 this morning. I hate it when people think they can call my damn house any damn time they want. I didn't answer, and it was a PRIVATE CALLER ... they didn't leave a message ... I hate the fact that I have to shut the ringer off on my bedroom phone at night, but ... I'll keep doing it if I have to though. It just ticks me off ... cause now my precious sleep was cut short ...
Good Lawd ... I love reading this site everyday ... it just cracks me up ... The Dugout

Counting ...
O
W
N
to Thanksgiving.
I am so anxious to have my mom and dad here. I will have to get busy and get the house from comfortably, lived in messy ... to MOM CLEAN ! Nothing out of place ... I think they are bringing Beau dog with ... so the ds will be very happy.
I am still planning to veg out on Saturday. I may go into work for a few hours and then I think 'Nifer is going to bring Honey B over and we'll watch a movie. I told her if she brings the movie, I will make the garlic dip. I have forewarned her that I will be in my jammie pants ... LOL !
Wednesday, November 15, 2006
Shake, shake, shake ...
HAHA ... This was on the radio on my way into work this morning ... and now it's stuck in my head. Good Lawd ! Everyday it's a new song ... and I sing it all day long.
The ds had hockey pictures last night, and I think they will turn out good. Yesterday was a very taxing day on me, and seeing the cute little kids in their gear, posing for pictures literally brought some tears to my eyes yesterday. Seeing the joy in these kids faces as they were out there, on the ice, waiting their turn with the photographer was pure bliss.
I did it. I bought the Da Vinci Code last night ... but I didn't have time to watch it. I think I am going to wait until Friday or Saturday ... and I'll curl up on the couch downstairs and turn up the surround sound. I am childless this weekend, and it's gonna be all about me ... maybe I'll pamper myself a little bit ... or something ...
Congrats to the Red Sox for their winning bid ... for what ? The right to TALK to Japan's Matsuzaka ... to negotiate a contract with the Red Sox. I am all for it ... it's not my money - well, I suppose it KIND of is ... ya know, all the merchandise and tickets and crap, whatever. I digress. They have 30 days to come to a deal w/ his agen, Scott "Scumbag" Bore-Ass ... uh, sorry - maybe he's a nice guy (not) ... but after the whole Johnny deal and the whispers in his ear and the lies ... well, I don't like him.
As long as the MFY's didn't get him ... then I am as happy as a clam. Even though I hate clams.

Slow Down ...
Jack took a long look at his speedometer before slowing down: 73 in a 55zone. Fourth time in as many months. How could a guy get caught so often?
When his car had slowed to 10 miles an hour, Jack pulled over, but only partially. Let the cop worry about the potential traffic hazard. Maybe some other car will tweak his backside with a mirror. The cop was stepping out of his car, the big pad in hand.
Bob? Bob from Church? Jack sunk farther into his trench coat. This was worse than the coming ticket. A cop catching a guy from his own church. A guy who happened to be a little eager to get home after a long day at the office. A guy he was about to play golf with tomorrow.
Jumping out of the car, he approached a man he saw every Sunday, a man he'd never seen in uniform.
"Hi, Bob. Fancy meeting you like this."
"Hello, Jack." No smile.
"Guess you caught me red-handed in a rush to see my wife and kids."
"Yeah, I guess." Bob seemed uncertain Good.
"I've seen some long days at the office lately. I'm afraid I bent the rules a bit - just this once."Jack toed at a pebble on the pavement. "Diane said something about roast beef and potatoes tonight. Know what I mean?"
"I know what you mean. I also know that you have a reputation in our precinct ." Ouch. This was not going in the right direction. Time to change tactics.
"What'd you clock me at?"
"Seventy. Would you sit back in your car please?"
"Now wait a minute here, Bob. I checked as soon as saw you. I was barely nudging 65." The lie seemed to come easier with every ticket.
"Please, Jack, in the car."
Flustered, Jack hunched himself through the still-open door. Slamming it shut, he stared at the dashboard. He was in no rush to open the window. The minutes ticked by. Bob scribbled away on the pad.Why hadn't he asked for a driver's license? Whatever the reason, it would be a month of Sundays before Jack ever sat near this cop again.
A tap on the door jerked his head to the left. There was Bob, a folded paper in hand. Jack rolled down the window a mere two inches, just enough room for Bob to pass him the slip. "Thanks." Jack could not quite keep the sneer out of his voice.
Bob returned to his police car without a word. Jack watched his retreat inthe mirror. Jack unfolded the sheet of paper. How much was this one going to cost?
Wait a minute. What was this? Some kind of joke? Certainly not a ticket. Jack began to read:
"Dear Jack,
Once upon a time I had a daughter. She was six when killed by a car. You guessed it- a speeding driver. A fine and three months in jail, and the man was free. Free to hug his daughters, all three of them. I only had one, and I'm going to have to wait until Heaven before I can ever hug her again.
A thousand times I've tried to forgive that man. A thousand times Ithought I had. Maybe I did, but I need to do it again. Even now. Pray for me. And be careful, Jack, my son is all I have left.
Bob "
Jack turned around in time to see Bob's car pull away and head down the road. Jack watched until it disappeared. A full 15 minutes later, he too, pulled away and drove slowly home, praying for forgiveness and hugging asurprised wife and kids when he arrived.

A chill in the air ...
*sigh*
The weekend was much too short. Instead of having1 friend stay over this weekend, the ds had 2. Everyone had a nice time ... they played ALOT of PS2 ... All boys are hockey players, so they were chatting about that and I set up the net in the driveway so they were shooting all morning.
I have not yet watched The DaVinci Code, and it comes out on DVD tomorrow. I am going to buy it, and hope it's good. Anyone seen it ?
Ugh ... I tried to avoid football yesterday. I did see that the Green Gay Packers beat the Vikings though ... most unfortunate. I don't know what it is, but I do NOT like the damn packers ... yuck.
Well ... I have a lot to get done ... but I will be back ... I am kind of spacey today ... so I just don't know how to express myself this morning.

WTF !!??!!??!!

Another day ...
First and foremost ... HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE !
We are in for 4-7 inches of snow through tomorrow. YIKES !! I'm not ready for this yet. You would think I would be ... coming from Northern Minnesota and all ... but ... yuck. Winter is NOT my favorite season ... it's my least favorite to be completely honest with you.
I did a little bit of on-line shopping yesterday. I got my dad some clothes from Cabella's and my mom ... well ... I'm not gonna say ... but it's something BEAUTIFUL. She will love it.
I am going to do some scrapbook shopping today for some holiday paper ... I want to be ready ... My mother asked for me to bring some stuff home so we can scrap over Christmas. She would like to learn, so I'm going to buy some paper I think she will enjoy ...
So ... today I will shop a little more on my lunch break ... I thought of a few more gifts I would like to buy. I am trying to avoid the mall this holiday shopping season AT ALL COSTS !
The ds is having a sleep-over at the house this weekend ... Better stock of on Advil !
Anything exciting for anyone else this weekend ?

Thirsty Thursday ...
Gee ... last night I watched the "fall finale" of LOST. How dumb is that? I don't want to have to wait until friggin February to watch another episode. URGH !
Oh ... and I believe my folks are coming for Thanksgiving. That will be nice ... I wonder if they will bring me a tree ? I had an artificial one last year, and I didn't like it, but then again, I'm going home for Christmas so maybe I should just use the fake one again. *sigh* At least I will have real trees at my mom's.
Growing up in Minnesota was awesome. Seriously. I didn't drive until I was 17 - I didn't need to. I had a snowmobile to drive around to get me to work during the winter and a 4-wheeler to use in the summer, spring, and fall. I kid you not, I would WALK to a friends house in -40 degree weather, because I didn't want to stay home ... and wanted to hang out ... and then I would convince my dad to come and pick me up somehow ... LOL ...
The weather is grand today - we will be in the 70's - and then we are in for 4-7 inches of snow on Friday sometime ... tis the hockey season you know!
I also wanted to let my EB's know ... that I have been "reliving" our Enclavian Red Sox Game ... and watching the tape. Wow ... that reallly was a long game ...
Well ... happy wishes for a wonderful day ...

Teddy Bears ...
A woman meets a man in a bar. They talk; they connect; they end up leaving together to his place.
The man shows her around his apartment, she notices that one wall of his bedroom is completely filled with soft, sweet, cuddly teddy bears. There are three shelves in the bedroom, with hundreds and hundreds of cute, cuddly teddy bears, carefully placed in rows covering the entire wall! It was obvious that he had taken quite some time to lovingly arrange them and she was immediately touched by the amount of thought he had put into organizing the display. There were small bears all along the bottom shelf, medium-sized bears covering the length of the middle shelf, and huge, enormous bears running all the way along the top shelf. She found it strange for an obviously masculine guy to have such a large a collection of Teddy Bears but doesn't mention this to him and actually is quite impressed by his sensitive side.
They share a bottle of wine and continue talking and, after a while, She finds herself thinking,
"Oh my God! Maybe, this guy could be the one! Maybe he could be the future father of my children?"
She turns to him and kisses him lightly on the lips. He responds warmly. They continue to kiss, the passion builds, and he romantically lifts her in his arms and carries her into his bedroom where they rip off each other's clothes and make hot, steamy love. She is so overwhelmed that she responds with more passion, more creativity, and more heat than she has ever known.
After an intense, explosive night of raw passion with this sensitive guy, they are lying there together in the afterglow. The woman rolls over, gently strokes his chest and asks coyly,
"Well, how was it?"
The guy gently smiles at her, strokes her cheek, looks deeply into her eyes, and says,
"Help yourself to anything on the second row."

A little of this ...
*sigh*
It's gonna be a long day.
I came into work early today and we have hockey tonight, so who knows when I will get home.
I have some errands to run after hockey, I suppose I could do them DURING practice, but I prefer to be there to watch. What if something happened to me driving in rush hour traffic, and the ds was done with practice, waiting for me? It's just better to wait there. I keep my MP3 player in my purse so I can zone out on the game and listen to some good tunes.
The ds is having a friend sleepover this weekend. He needed to make sure his room was clean last night ... and he did an excellent job. I was very proud. So, if he keeps it that way until Friday, I will put the PS2 in his room. It beats having the kids playing video games in my room ... then I can have some peace !
OOOH ... and I watched Prison Break on FOX last night ... it was awesome ... you can't trust anyone apparently.
... Wishing everyone a wonderful day ... the weather is great here today, so that's got me in a smiling mood ... (for now)

ROTFLMAO !
The NEW NYY logo ...

Ass Wipes !
LOVIN IT ! Thanks to my dear friend JTT ...
Happy Monday!
The weekend went by so fast. It was very nice - relaxing - quiet.
The ds had hockey on Saturday. It went really well, I was proud of how hard he was working out there.
We went out for lunch on Saturday. Nothing fancy - I just didn't feel like cooking. When do I ever? We just hung out and had a quiet day. We each read a book and just chilled.
Sunday we went to see The Santa Clause III ... what a cute movie this is! It helped me get a little excited for the upcoming holiday season. This will pass I am sure, but I hope it stays. It's been rough these past couple of Christmas's ... I just haven't been enjoying the decorating or baking. I have so much other stuff going on that it is more of a nuisance than anything. I have been giving myself the pep talk ... hopefully this year will be different.
The Christmas shopping has taken it's toll on me as well. I hate the other shoppers. Last year I actually yelled at a woman that is was because of her rudeness that I hate the holidays. I felt like I was falling off the deep end. So, this year, I vow to do as much online or catalog shopping as humanly possible.

Once again ...
I just want to say a couple of quick things.
To my current (and as of 2:00 today will be FORMER) co-worker - GEGEN-MONSTER: I wish you all the happiness I can offer. It was honestly a joy to get to work with you, and loan you out movies ... and you never know, Punch Drunk Love may just magically appear on your door step. If you ever have a movie request, you know my email address!

To my Enclavian Sistah Mellie ... HAVE A SAFE TRIP ! Have a good time, enjoy every moment. We'll talk to you when you get back ...
And ... finally ... to my new co-worker DuF ... pleasure having you aboard !

Happy Birthday Belle !

Busy, busy, busy ...
*SIGH*
Today I have so much to do. I have a 4 hour training this morning ... and it has me feeling a little overwhelmed. However, I keep telling myself " I am Novy, I can accomplish anything because I am strong enough to push through and stand tall. I have the confidence it takes to tackle this new project ..." ok ... LOL ... I think if I really say that I will start to laugh ... but, it was a good pep talk!
Tonight we have hockey again ... and I'm going to miss Ugly Betty ! I will just make it home in time to watch Grey's Anatomy which is a MUST SEE !! Can't. Miss. One. Second.
Ugh ... I have this back pain today ... so I am running on about 3 hours of sleep. No matter how I lay, I was in pain. So, nothing is in my favor today. :(
HAVE A GOOD DAY !

- sweet -
I have received this email a few times in the past couple years, and it always makes me misty eyed, as I am such a romantic at heart. LOL!
A girl asked a guy if he thought she was pretty, He said...no.
She asked him if he would want to be with her forever...and he said no.
She then asked him if she were to leave would he cry, and once again he replied with a no.
She had heard enough. As she walked away, tears streaming down her face the boy grabbed her arm and said...
You're not pretty you're beautiful.
I don't want to be with you forever, I NEED to be with you forever.
And I wouldn't cry if you walked away...I'd die...
Chilly ...
I tood the ds trick or treating last night ... and boy, was it cold ! We went for about 2 hours and I couldn't take anymore, so we went out for dinner. We both had a cup of hot chocolate and it hurt my teeth I was so cold.
Ah, but the ds got a ton of candy I will probably end up throwing away because he will forget about it or get tired of it for a while. Thank goodness. There is a local dentist who pays you for your halloween candy by the pound ... I should do that!
Well, 'Nifer is off to ol Mississippi ... if she drove straight through, she would be there by now, but I haven't heard from her yet. I hope she stopped for a couple hours of sleep though, that's a long haul when you are driving by yourself.
I am lost right now. My friend Mel said it best when she asked "Is it baseball season yet?" ... I'm ready ... I want it back. I need something to focus on.

= Mississippi =
She is taking the trip down to see her baby bro and family ... and I just want her to know I am thinking of her ...
BE CAREFUL ... Call when you get there ...
(i'm such a mom)
Happy Halloween !

nada ...
Today, 20 years ago, the 100th episode of CHEERS aired ...
and uh ... the ds has hockey tonight ... for like 3 hours or something ... YIKES ...
and ... what else ... i have a big headache ...
Busy, busy, busy ...
Friday, of course, I went scrapbooking with some scrappin friends. It was fun ... I didn't get a ton done, I was more interested in watching others and shopping. I did get a couple of pages done, so I can't complain.
Saturday I slept in ... It felt awesome for the world. I woke up, and got busy cleaning in the ds's room. It looks great - I hung up some more pictures and moved around some furniture. I was quite relived to have gotten so much done.
Sunday. DRAMA! No, not really, but it felt like it. LOL !
I took the ds to the movie theatre, we saw "The Guardian" with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. It was really good, a tear jerker. I can't wait to buy it.
I called my friend Jerry to wish him a happy birthday. He didn't sound like himself, so I inquired, and he was going to break up with his girlfriend. I feel bad for him, and I have never met her, but he didn't seem happy. We just want him to be happy cause he's such a great guy.
The ds lost a tooth last night. He came to show me and then he dropped it on the floor, it took 15 minutes to find it. He then went to go and clean it up for the tooth fairy, and proceeded to drop it down the drain. I had him write a letter to the Tooth Fairy, and he didn't think it would work, but it did. He told the TF where it was and the TF left him $5.00 ! For Real ! $5.00 !!! When I was a kid I got like $1.00 ... kids are spoiled these days.
I am ticked about the World Series. I have nothing left to say on the matter, except that it sucks, but the better team won.
... I lead a boring life ... really ...

Sleep Deprived ...
I fell asleep with the TV on last night, watching the disastrous Tigers game last night. So, anyway, I wake up at 5:59 (well, it was really 5:29 cause I keep my clock 30 minutes fast in my bedroom) to hear the news people say "At 2:00am, set your clock back an hour". I am thinking, wow, I get another hour of sleep now, and then I thought - no, you do that on Saturday. So, I was all confused and had to call my mom and find out what day it was!
So, tonight I am off to scrapbook. It's a potluck night at the scrapbook store I am going to, along with a potluck at work. I am going to work on some more of my Fenway pictures, but need to buy more baseball themed paper. I am excited to finish up this book.
Have a good day ...

- Hump Day -
Well, last night, I brought the ds back to hockey - we are going to be trying out the Goalie equipment the first part of the season. The coach thinks the ds would be a good fit, he tried it last year and seemed to enjoy it. I'm game.
I got a package in the mail from my Dad and Step-Mom yesterday. In this large package, were some of the things I bought on the Cape this August. I love to go shopping when I am there, so I know I can get whatever I want because they'll ship it home for me.
I forgot what I had bought even. I had gotten some kitchen glasses, that match the ones I already have, and I can't find them anymore - so I got 4 extra's. I picked up some small glass baskets, small decorative planter, Red Sox History book, scrapbooking paper, scented wax that I can only find at A.C. Moore - I'm rather particular. I had bought some clothes for the ds and some stained glass things for gifts. It was like Christmas.
Included was a copy of the picture of me from the Red Sox / MFY game that was on the BDD site and then the tape of the game I attended. I started watching it last night, searching center field for a glimpse of myself or my Enclavian friends. It's funny, watching it, because I saw it live, but it's a different view of the game. I was out in the field, behind my former beloved, so I got to watch his face, rather than his butt. Also, seeing Coco's face dive was different from the front than from behind ... it looked like he didn't get up because he was embarrassed that he missed the catch for the out, rather than possible injury ... but what do I know.
So, I am only into the start of the 3rd inning, and it's rough to relive this game, but I am gonna watch it, just in hopes of a glimpse of my friends or I.
Oh - - time to go ...

H-O-C-K-E-Y
I am taking the ds again tonight, to tryout for the next level. He needs to be pushed and needs more training and practice on the game itself, not just skating. The kids need more than what they are getting ... but ... it's gonna cost me, and a pretty penny at that. I am gonna have to fork out a couple hundred bucks if they take him ... and donate 20-30 hours of my time throughout the season.
Jebus. Maybe I should try and convince the ds to play basketball instead.
Well ... have a nice Tuesday - I'll be back later ... I just have so much to do ...
Monday, October 23, 2006
-Monday-
This morning it was so dark when I woke up, I thought I forgot to change the clocks, but that's next weekend. I had to check.
I was so busy this weekend! I bought some new shelving units as I was overwhelmed w/ the DVD's all over the living room - and I bought the ds a new tv stand, so I had to put everything together - I even got out the cordless drill !
Good Job Tigers ! Tied up the series ... WAY TO GO ! Let's take the next 3 in St. Louis ! Please ...
Well, I have a ton to do this morning ... and I today the ds starts his 3rd year of hockey ... So, back to hockey mom mode I go.
Friday, October 20, 2006
- email -
LOL !
URGH !
I'm a Tiger today ... ROAR !
sorry - i'm tired ... and i'm being petty ...
and i needed to vent that out ... cause 'Nifer wasn't at her desk !
Pardon the interuption - back as you were people.
Happy Friday ... ? ...
Damn those stupid Cardinals ... but at least it's a Midwestern Series ... I still would have preferred the Mets ... but it's out of my control.
I didn't really get to watch much of the game last night ... I would flip back and forth between either Ugly Betty and the game or Grey's Anatomy and the game.
I am a little pissed at McDreamy right now ... F*^% him ... he better be making things right ... well, I haven't even seen next week's show obviously ... but just the sneak peek pissed me off ...
- WHATEVER -
.... sigh .... I need a nap ...
So ... have a good day ... I have a meeting in 28 minutes ... as spoken by Ah-nold: "I'll be back."
Thursday, October 19, 2006
Lots of laughs ...
I keep a list of them on a spreadsheet, in alphabetical order.
My friends will ask for the list, and then borrow a couple of movies ... whatever. That's fine. Why spend the money, when I have the movie, and am not watching it, right?
S

On 10/13/06, while I was scrapping, her husband calls my cell phone. So I explained to him that it would be a dollar a day for each day they had the movie ... (a girls gotta make a living, right?) Hahaha ...
Two weeks was how long they had it ... (remember, this does not bother me, but I think it's funny cause her husband was ragging me.) So, today, I sent the Docmeister a bill for $10.00. It is for late fee's.
He's gonna be like "WTF?" HAHAHA !! I told my friend Remy what I was doing and she thinks it's hilarious ...
I even included a remittance stub!
I expect another phone call, only this time regarding his bill from Novy's Movie Rentals !!!!
Thursday Morning News by Novy ...
LOST - What the hell is up with this show? It takes so many twists and turns, but I am still intrigued by it ... and the ds loved seeing th polar bear again.
Nothing on the agenda today ... It's just a plain old Thursday, and I am stuck wearing G.D. pantyhose ... I haven't decided who invented them ... the Devil or George Steinbrenner.
Have a great day ...
Wednesday, October 18, 2006
... Yawn ...
Hey, did I just rhyme? LOL !
Dude, seriously ... I totally forgot that LOST is on tonight ... It's Wednesday! So, I guess I will be staying up until at least 9:00 ... The ds will be so excited ...
Today's song of the day seems to be Smoke on the water ... I can't stop it ... It just is FORCING itself outta my vocal cords ...
... Yawn ...
I keep telling myself I would like to have a "word of the day" thing going on ... Like I have to pick a word in the morning, and use it in a real, honest to goodness sentence sometime throughout the day. I really need to broaden my horizons.
I am NOT starting this today ... too lazy.
Another day ...
I know, I know, I am making a late appearance today, but I needed to sleep in a bit this morning. I didn’t get home until 9:00 last night – and I had left for work at 6:00 am – so I was gone for what, 15 hours yesterday ? It was a long day.
Conferences went good. My ds’s teacher likes me, so my conference was 1 hour and 40 minutes. She likes to thank me for all that I do for his education and knows that it isn’t easy being a single mom. Sometimes I need to be told that I am doing an OK job … I work full time, and can’t always be the mom that volunteers for everything, but I do what I can.
I did end up buying The Break-Up yesterday. I didn’t get to watch it yet, cause we got home so late, and Boston Legal was on, but I fell asleep! *sigh*
So, I see that the Cardinals won last night. I don’t really know how I feel about that. I guess I want the Mets to go to the World Series, but then again, I hate the National League, so I don’t care. … … … Wait for it … … … *sigh*
So … that’s it in a nutshell today.
I would like to send warm fuzzy feelings out to my friend JTT … I am thinking of you today !

G.D. Christmas Songs !!!!
DAMN THEM !
Don't they know that if they start singing a song ... I too will start singing it ... and it will be stuck in my head ... for the rest of the day ... ???????????
ROAR !
PH ? !!! ? Who, me ???
WELL, today ... this dear friend of mine broke the stem off of her pumpkin that Swampy brought her.
SO NOW WHO IS THE PH ???
Pumpkin Hater !
Cape Cod ...

It was a nice vacation ... I love the Cape.
A Shout Out to Mellie!
small note of thanks to whomever I "borrowed" these pictures from ... I appreciate it ... but I think I got them from a friend, of a friend, of a cousin, of a friend's brother ...
Good Morning ...
I have conferences with the ds's teacher tonight, and I promised we would stop at the book fair and pick up a couple of books for him. I hope things go well. Since the conferences aren't until after supper time, I thought I would take him out for a burger first ...
The Break-Up comes out on DVD today. I am so excited, I'll probably stop and buy it ... Tuesday's are one of my favorite days of the week because that's when all the new movie releases come out on DVD, and I don't need an excuse to buy a DVD. Movies are a small joy in my life ... so it's ok.
A co-worker brought in some delicious doughnuts this morning as it's her birthday ... I needed a sugary sweet this morning ... well ANY morning actually.
I am reading this new book by Patricia Cornwell. Predator. I'm only about 80 pages in, but I am intrigued. I have read all of her Kay Scarpetta books. They are to die for, no pun intended. I am usually into the romance books but these books all tie into each other, and I have been reading them for over 10 years, so I can't stop now.

Ebay ...
It hasn't come out yet, but I have decided to wait on pre-ordering Guitar Hero II for the PS2, thinking it will be a much better deal on eBay than Best Buy or some video game store. My ds and I love Guitar Hero - and it has actually prompted me to buy a lot of classic Rock cd's. Smoke on the water by Deep Purple is the ds's favorite song - it is tied with Iron Man by Black Sabbath. This son of mine knows all the words, it is hil-ar-i-ous !! The new game is supposed to have 55 new songs ... and we can't wait to try and master them ... a little Guns-n-Roses anyone? LOL!
I buy a ton of my scrapbook stuff on eBay too. This year I may do ALL of my Christmas shopping on eBay. I am not big on shopping, ESPECIALLY over the holidays. There are a million people in the stores, and I always get grouchy, and tell people to move out of my way, and as I walk by them I mumble that THEY are the reason I hate the holidays. I guess I am a scrooge while in the malls.
*sigh* Back to work ...
-Lunch-
Things could be worse I guess. It could be leftovers, and I hate leftovers!
Another happy Monday?
I am wicked tired this morning ... I knew I shouldn't have taken that little nap yesterday afternoon. It screwed with my whole day!
The ds came home from his dad's yesterday ... he didn't have a nice weekend and he never wants to go back. Lucky for me, I know he will change his mind when it's time to go again. I don't think they are getting along well. He says all they do is yell at him ... poor kid. It's hard going from one house to another - with the houses having different rules to follow. He apparently got yelled at for bringing his dad the phone and the dog got out ... Relax ... enjoy the time with your child ... his dad needs to remember that his time shouldn't be taken for granted.
OK ... enough with that attitude ... moving on ...
We just got a new Coleman air mattress thingy ... In case I go camping ... so the ds and I blew it up in the living room yesterday and laid on it and watched a little TV after dinner - he had a blast and wants to do it again this weekend, only we have to sleep on it and have popcorn ! LOL! I'll go buy a new movie or something and we can have a fun night!
That ds of mine is funny ... for Christmas last year a friend of mine made me a Red Sox blanket. He is NOT allowed to use it unless he has special permission. So, we were laying down last night on the air mattress and we each had a blanket - so he then covered us both up with the Red Sox blanket - "since it's a special night". I got lucky and have a sweet child.
And hockey has now started for the ds ... well, next week it does. I am looking foward to this - it's so much fun!
Scrapping was fun ... I did some girly pages of my cousin's daughters - it was fun because I got to use PINK paper's and pretty things ... not just boy stuff! I even bought a pink album to use for them ... Now I just need more pictures of the girls!
I also worked on the Enclavian Slumber Party book ... it's coming along really well. I did 2 layouts (4 pages) of our dinner and drinks at Skipjacks ... I also did a page of me w/ Fanny the Fenway Cow ... LOL!
Yes, and before I forget:
Way To Go Tigers ! Mag's is da' man !
I'm sorry this was all about me today ... it was a rough Sunday and I needed to vent it out, to not keep it bottled up ...

I'm Outta Here .............
I am hoping that the Tigers keep on with their winning streak ...
Right now we're starting the bottom of the Fourth - and they are still up 2-0 !
Game 3 is on !
It's about 44 degrees in Detroit today, so let's hope this works in the favor of the Tigers.
WOO HOO !!! I just went back and checked on the game and:
Granderson walked on four pitches.-
Monroe singled to right, Granderson to third.-
Polanco singled to center, Granderson scored, Monroe to third.
First Inning ! I want the Tigers to score big and right away!
- Wait! -
Ordonez grounded into fielder's choice, shortstop Scutaro to second baseman D.Jimenez, Monroe scored, Ordonez to first, Polanco out ...
2-0 ... Tigers!
And that, ladies and gentlemen ... is the first inning!
Damn the Garlic Dip!
Well, my parents were here 2 weeks ago for an extended weekend, and I couldn't find the mixer this morning, as my mom does all the cooking when they come down, and puts stuff in the wrong cupboards. So, I went to make the dip this morning, and there was no mixer ... I didn't call her to say "WHERE THE HELL IS IT?" because she was on her way to work ...
So, I stopped at the grocery store and bought some cream puffs and some good cookies ... but ... I should have boughten a new mixer by the sounds of it.
I have been harrassed all day, due to not bringing the precious dip. I always bring the dip. ALWAYS!
Maybe next week I will surprise them and bring in a random treat ... just so they get off my back! LOL !
-National League-
Somehow I wish they all sucked this year, and nobody was any good ... and some crappy-ass team like the Brewer's would have made it ... (I only say this because I hate Wisconsin sports teams).
I firmly believe that we will be seeing the Mighty Tigers against the Mets.
So, this afternoon, I will have mlb on my computer ... cheering for a win ...
Good Luck !
Oh, Yes ... before I forget to ask ... Any predictions on who we are seeing in the World Series?
Finally ...
"It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend.
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll."
Well, I made it ... it's Friday, again.
Last night was a long night ... I wasn't feeling well, but I'm better now. Just an upset stomach, so the ds and I watched a little tv.
I love this Ugly Betty show, it's a run off of the movie "The Devil Wears Prada", but I don't care ... I liked it!
Grey's Anatomy. This show is awesome for the world. Uh, Hello? McDreamy and McSteamy ... Lovin' It ! You can take care of me anytime ... I promise!
Well ... I should get back to work for a bit ... everyone around here is bitchy.

* Did I mention it's Friday?
* I am going scrappin with the 'Nifer. Crop & Shop !!! WOO HOO!
* The ds is leaving for the weekend - I'll miss him though
* Did I also mention that I'll get to view a little Nick Swisher and Magglio Ordonez ? Yummy ...
Thank You to my EB!
I was so proud of myself for making some small changes and then I screwed it up somehow ... I appreciate you fixing it for me in my time of need!
What would I do without you?
D.A.'s
I am stressed today ... and poor 'Nifer is suffering along with me ...
I am honestly ready to rip out a little bit of hair ... What I need to do is take a step back and take a few deep breaths. Well, to be brutally honest, I would like to just go home, veg out on the couch, and hide for the rest of the day ... but I don't usually take that road.
Sorry - just had to vent it out for a minute ... I am feeling a little better now ...
Recapping Wednesday ...
Well - I worked - all day !
I took the ds shopping for a new winter jacket, and found myself 2 new outfits as well ...
Stopped for a bite to eat at McD's - and made it home just in time to watch LOST. The ds loves this show!
Flipped through channels so I could watch the Tigers / A's game ...
WAY TO GO TIGERS ! 8-5 in Game 2 !! 4 runs in the 4th !
I love it ! Seriously - I like the Twins, well ... because I grew up there ... but I am not a big fan ... my love is for the Sox ... not white, but Red ... but I am happy to see Detroit do so well ... it's deserved !!!
Any once again I would like to say that my heart goes out to Cory Lidle's family in this time of sadness.
This is a jersey that fans hung in the stands of the game last night in Oakland.

- Today -
New York City, I am sorry.
It is not fair to have all the bad stuff happen to you ...
A small 4 seater plane crashed into a NYC high rise this afternoon.
I send prayers and thoughts to everyone. The NYC fireman are so brave after 9/11 to enter these burning buildings, and when an airplane is involved, it didn't stop them. They did their job - they truly are heros.
I realize this is not on a grand scale compared to what happened 5 years ago ... but it's heart wrenching all the same.
----------------------------- UPDATE !! ----------------------------------
The plane that crashed today in NYC was registered to MFY Cory Lidle. He is feared dead. My prayers are with his family at such a sad time.
"Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle was the pilot of a small plane that crashed into a high-rise apartment building in Manhattan on Wednesday, according to published reports. "
"There was a mayday, FAA reports, from the pilot involving a problem with fuel before the aircraft crashed into the 50-story high-rise on Manhattan's East Side."
My Friend - 'Nifer
SHUT THE HELL UP AND QUIT BOTHERING ME OR I WILL TAKE YOU DOWN TO H.R. SO FAST YOUR HEAD WILL SPIN !
Thank you ... and I'm sorry for the interruption ...
{ i'm just joshing her ... we work on a team together ... and we sit next to each other ... and have to look at each other's ugly mug's everyday ... and right now we are feeling a little stress - so we threaten each other!}
VOTE NOW !
Jebus!
I was so happy to see the Detroit Tigers pounce on the A's ! 5-1 ! Good Job ... Nice homer Brandon Inge !
Well ... Dammit ... I'm down in the dumps ... it's gonna snow today! Snow! I'm not ready for it. I have so much to do to get ready - work in the garage and move the ds's go-kart so I can get my car back in there. I want to clean up my laundry room and add a 5 foot table and lamp to keep all my scrapbook supplies in there. I need somewhere to go, a little space of my own, but my ds disagrees's with me on that. Hey, maybe I should move HIM to the laundry room and take over his bedroom - it's plenty big enough - and I would like his room much more. LOL!
I need to do something. I need to join something or make a commitment to do something every week or every month. I am falling into a rut and it's devestating. I want to be out of this funk I am in - I want to do more than come home from work, and cook dinner, and go to bed. Hockey season for my wonderful ds is approaching so at least that gives me something to do 2-3 nights a week.
Well, today I entered in my 2007 vacation picks. My wonderful Enclavian friends and I want to get together in Boston again. We have decided to NOT attend another MFY series game. It was rough - and I just don't know that I want to go through that again. So - let's pray I get one of my picks, so I can attend at least one of my series's of choice. The atmosphere at Fenway is incredible - we all love Boston - and I think just being able to hang out and spend time with these wonderful friends of mine is something I need to do.
Hey, I am blessed to have great friends, here, at home too. I don't know what I would do without my 'Nifer or Rem or Berk ... they are superb friends ... and they put up with alot of my crap ... they let me talk about baseball all day ... and it's funny ... cause they don't care about it!
'Nifer and I are going to scrap on Friday. I am looking forward to that ... I want to finish up the pages from my Enclavian Slumber Party trip and the Red Sox/MFY game ... I have some pictures to do of my cousins daughters too. I am looking forward to that because I have a son, and never get to play with pink paper or girly embellishments ... it's gonna be fun.

More of Fenway ...

And what about Fanny the Fenway cow? She was in our hotel lobby ... she is lovely.

Awwww ... It was a wonderful time ... I think that when I complete my scrapbook - I may take some pitures of it and post here ... and ... I am disgusted with myself for saying this. I have 2 entire pages of Yankess's ... yuck.
That's the last time I choose to watch them on purpose! Or hang out behind their dugout for 2.5 hours prior to the game. Where I had to stand and watch Rivera read the Bible to A-Rod. Or see Mike Myers ... or Jeter do his warm-ups ... or Posada stretch!
Me, an idiot!
LOL!
What a doofus!
So, I just wanted to say that I have now fixed this ... and please excuse me ... as I am very computer illiterate!
Is it the end? Really?
I am formally announcing that Johnny Damon, of the MFY’s, is now dead to me.
I will forever love the Johnny I know, formerly of the Boston Red Sox. My beloved team.
He is no longer the man he used to be. I can no longer love who he has turned into.
Thank You.

- Redneck Reunion 2006 -
I left work at Noon on Friday and made the 6 hour trip up North. I went out to the cabin, and unloaded my car – and started mixing up some bloody mary’s for Saturday and some strawberry daquiri’s for that night. I was so happy to see Jerry. El’ Captain was there, too – and Travis & G.I. Joe showed up. I was patiently waiting for Kristi to arrive, as I hadn’t seen her since I moved away. D, B, & T arrived and then Kristi … away to the bar we went !
Once at the bar we ran into other people from town and the old days … Joe Goose was there !!!! YAY ! Always nice to see that goose song singing, guitar strumming man. We got to see Goose and Jerry sing some of their famous redneck songs … go country bullet!
Anyway, I digress. Booze was flowing, Beer cans and bottles were opening … let us not forget that chew tins were being passed around and chew was flying (yuck!). It was a long, wonderful night of drunkenness. I think I finally went to bed at 4 in the morning.
I wake up to Jerry yelling about finding condoms all over the place – and he’s pissed cause they aren’t his! I get my drunk ass outta bed, and pour myself a big ol’ bloody mary and go outside before it rains. I took a sauna, got dressed, had another bloody, and went out to see what the new day had brought. What did it bring you ask ? Guns – Hunting Season Opener !!! So we take a walk and find some birds to shoot … I keep drinking the bloody mary’s cause I’m not shooting … then I have to eat something so we go to town and eat and ________ ! Can you fill in the blank ? Yes … DRINK ! LOL !
More people showed up that I haven’t seen in forever … I didn’t care about anything … it was just nice to see them and hear their voices. I am just under 30, but we were playing drinking games … I felt like a young’un again … It was sooo fun.
I think the next one is in December, 2006 !!! HA HA ! Guess the first was so fun, that we had to have another one …

- Enclavian Story Hour by Novy -
Enclavian Slumber Party:
This event rocked! I met B on the Cape. We drove to pick up E, and then head to Boston to hook up with the rest of the Enclavian Bitches. We arrived at our hotel, where I immediately spotted

We then went down to a sports bar to catch some pre-game Red Sox / Yankee news and have a drink and a bite to eat before heading over to Fenway. We went back the room to grab our stuff and get ready for the game … J, E, and I hopped in a cab and walked around (I hate my flip flops!) and took some pictures. It was a wicked hot day for me. We all met up at the Boston Beer Works, where JS joined us. We were only waiting for M’s flight to land, and her to rush to Fenway. We got early admittance, which was nice … and met a nice Yank (Anthony) who took our pictures …

I walked back with M … very scary … I don’t think either of us knew where we were going, at walking down a dark street at 2:30 in the morning in Boston … hey, that’s kinda scary! We made it back safely.
Saturday we all went for breakfast and visited … Some of us went on a trolley tour, and others to watch the game at the bar. We did the tourist / sightseeing bit … great time, we met Fletch. We got ready for dinner, and went to SkipJacks. EXCELLENT CHOICE ! Yum ! The waiter had a thing for A … but she gave him a rough time. I worked it out though. Josh (the waiter – at least I think that was his name.) and the manager guy came over and chatted Red Sox stuff with us after our meal … It was hilarious !
We left and went back to the hotel where we stopped at the bar on the 2nd floor – they just happened to have a band … I went dancing … B joined me for the first two … then E came out with me … E can really move! But the pic of us is hilarious … I look to be about 3 feet taller than her!
Sunday morning, wake up – hugs goodbye – a little tears even. M and I caught a cab to the airport and away we went.
These are my friends … they are awesome, awesome for the world.

- Tick, Tock ... Tick, Tock -

Well ... I am at 5 days until I head out to Cape Cod, or 9 days until my Fenway DeFlowering !
Can you believe it ? It's almost here ... I'm still not ready ... I have done about 2 things on my list ... and tonight it will be 3, since I am going to get my mani/pedi !
My DS is coming home in about 13 or 14 days ... he's been gone all summer and I miss him something awful ! He's ready to come home, he misses his mom. Poor kid is going to be in for a rude awakening though ... he's been at brat at Gramma & Grampa's and that's not gonna slide when he gets here.
So, when he gets home, we are going to have a nice weekend together and go to Chuckie Cheese - and do a little shopping !
Well, I should get busy ... time waits for no man (or woman) !
Tuesday, August 01, 2006
Where does the time go ?
I am feeling the need to purge my soul today, however I do not get that “deep” on my blog. I prefer to keep things upbeat around here, as I don’t check in all that frequently.
Well, I am leaving for Cape Cod in It is 13 days, 20 hours, 22 minutes and 33 seconds … Then I will catch the bus from Logan to the Cape. I’m going to spend some time with my father and his wife, along with my aunt. I will be staying a few days, then heading off to Boston for the weekend with my Enclavian Bitches.
The Enclavian people are special to me … we are all good friends … we enjoy visiting with each other – and we are going to watch a little baseball and have some drinks ! Look Out Boston !!! We have even dubbed our hotel “Enclavian Headquarters”.
I have a huge list of things to do or finish before leaving.
- Finish scrap book for Dad
- Shop for clothes for Enclave Weekend.
- Get Haircut
- Pedicure / Manicure
- Eyebrow Maintenance
- Laundry
- Pack
- Go to the Bank
- Confirm Reservations with Airline
- Clean up the house
- Go to Staind / 3 Doors Down / Seether Concert
I will stop there … I tried to be vague … my list at home is HUGE ! I am very detailed with how many pairs of underwear I will pack, and noting that I am bringing both my blowdryer and curling iron and 1 brush and 1 comb, etc …
My DS will be home the day after I return from Boston. I can’t wait to see him. He has been at gramma & grampa’s for far too long ! He’ll be home for about a week, then it’s back to school for him ! I am going to try and do something special his first weekend home – swimming, camping, park, SOMETHING !
Well, I need to get busy … I still have a lot of shopping to do and don’t know what exactly I want to buy … I hate shopping for shoes so I will buy something that is comfortable …
* Reminder to self: STAY FOCUSED ! If you are not focused you will run out of time, and then you will P A N I C !

- Random 5 -
Someone brought cake to work today ! Damn them ! Cake ! Well, I had a piece, and it made me feel better.
I am getting my hair highlighted tonight ... something for me, for once.
Update: MG - I think I have convinced him it's not a good idea to come here. I told him I cannot take any time off of work to spend with him and he would be alone all day, fending for himself. He had the nerve to ask me if I would at least do the shopping for him and make him lunch before I go to work ... I don't even make the ds cold lunch for school, why would it be any different for you ? I then advised him of my upcoming trip, and he said it's a waste to come all that way for only a week or 2 and then have to leave, unless I will let him stay at my house while I am gone.
ARE YOU NUTS ???? ARE YOU CRAZY ???? No, you are not staying at my house while I am gone for a week, by yourself. I couldn't trust you to keep it in your pants before, and now you want me to give you an opportunity to invite women into my home while I am gone ????
What is wrong with people ? What has the world come to ? There was a time when I would have trusted someone to stay in my home while I was gone ... but that doesn't happen anymore ... I haven't been burned, per say ... but I have heard bad stories from friends who let someone housesit ... and I just can't deal with that.
sorry ... this is a frustrated ranting of sorts.

- Sick -
Well, I am still going off to Boston in a month. We are counting down to game day, right peoples ? 38 days ! WOW ! I am so thrilled. As I type this, we are sitting at 916 hours until game time ! (I know, I think it's a sickness to know this !)
Otherwise, life is dull. Been keeping busy - am going to the movies tomorrow, am going to see "The Devil Wears Prada" with some friends. We are going to have dinner ... and some, uh ... drinks ?!
Well, we have an All Star Game to watch tonight ... GOOD LUCK AMERICAN LEAGUE ! And EXTRA good luck to the Red Sox boys !

- Hangover from Hell -

I am sick. I have a hangover. That is what happens when you party on a Monday & a Tuesday on a early week holiday from work. I want to crawl in a hole, and bury myself. My head is pounding. My stomach is churning. I am burping up Rum. Please, make the headache go away.
Happy Birthday to my beautiful son ! I love you ! Enjoy your youth. Enjoy yourself. Being a kid doesn't last forever, and you deserve so much. I am so blessed to have a child like you ... I really am ... You are my everything. You made me into who I am today.
