Pain.
I am so frustrated with him right now, I just don't know what to do next. His behavior is getting worse. We discussed yesterday about how I wanted and expected him to behave when we got to the arena, no running around, no yelling - basically - just staying calm. I explained you can still have fun and enjoy yourself and not be naughty. He PROMISED me that he would behave ... and the minute he walked in the arena door he disappointed me ... again.
When the game was over, I got all of his gear off and put away in his bag. I told him when we left I would buy him a soda for the ride home. Instead, he grabs his wallet and starts to walk away. I said "Wait, get your stuff ..." He just looked at me, and then ran off to the concession stand. I am left in the locker room with his jacket, hat, the blanket, my pocketbook, his HUGE hockey bag, and his stick. I was livid. I carried his stuff to the warming area/concession stand and threw it on the floor behind him. I said "here is your stuff, bring it to the car ..." and I walked to the parking lot. I was fuming !!! Then he complained I was a bad mom for doing that ...
What do I do now ? I have taken away his PS2 for a day here and a day there for every occurence. Do I go to a week each time ? Do I also take away his DVD player or just unplug his TV in his room altogether ? I am at my wits end. I am so sad by his lack of listening skills and the fact that he does not appreciate any of the things I do for him. How do I talk to this sweet 7 year old boy, he doesn't care to hear anything ... :(
anyway ... WMP sucks ... and I wish he wasn't a member of the Red Sox.
There, I said it ... now I feel a little better.

Cold Day In ...
I woke up this morning, took a shower, got ready for work ... walked from the kitchen to the garage, got in the car, started it up, backed out ... and drove the ds to school. That is when I had to get out of the car to sign him into his early morning program ... and BRRRRRR ... was it cold. With the windchill it is -15 degrees ... PLUS we got some snow yesterday, which we haven't had all year ! I HATE THE WINTER ... I'm moving !
So, tonight we have to drive 25 miles or so for another hockey game. I hate driving on the interstate, at night, and especially in cold weather ! Oh, big deal ... I can do it ... I'll have to put on my glasses though ! WOW. That made me feel old.
When I get home tonight, I am gonna put my jammies on and snuggle up in bed ... after sitting in a cold hockey arena for an hour and a half, on top of the outside weather ... I want to get warm!
Moving on to On this date in baseball ...
2003
Gary Carter becomes the first, and perhaps the only player to wear an Expos hat on his plaque when he is inducted into the Hall of Fame at Cooperstown in July. Although the former Montreal catcher had expressed his desire to go in with a Mets logo, the team he is employed by and was part of its 1986 World Series Championship, the Hall of Fame makes the final decision.

gibberish ...
Grey's Anatomy is on tonight ...we have had 6 freakin weeks of repeats ... and I need my fix ! It's like drugs ... but only I don't do drugs ... but it's kinda the same ... isn't it ???
My fellow EB's and I are starting talks of the 2nd Annual Enclavian Slumber Party / 2007 ! We are going to meet up in Boston again and attend some games at Fenway. We are giving ourselves an extra day or two to spend with each other because we felt that time was to short last summer ... Maybe I will fly in, jaunt down to the Cape for a couple days, and then head back to the city for a few days of baseball, pampering, and alcohol !
*sigh* I am excited already and it's not even set in stone ... no tickets have been bought or anything ... but I can't wait to spend some time with my good friends.

Today in baseball ...
The Indians dismiss coach George Susce when his son signs with the Red Sox.
Morals ...
I once feared this, and now know it to be true.
The Privacy Has Been Breached.
Nothing is private anymore ... I mean ... the damn article in the paper said that the government no longer needs a warrant to open someone's mail ... and email isn't private, that's for damn sure.
I AM FRIGGIN PISSED !
Back ...
The next 2 weeks are busy hockey days for us ... the ds has like 7 games + practices in these 14 days ... including a tournament ... wow-za !!! Wish us luck ...
While I was home sick, I catched up on some movies I hadn't yet seen ... The Bourne Identity & The Bourne Supremacy ... Love, Actually ... all were good ... I loved the BOURNE movies ... I was surpised how much I did like them ... I wish there was a 3rd !
... ... sigh ... ...

tired already ...
Friday night I got my hair cut. It's to the top of my shoulders ... and curly today !
Saturday morning - I read an entire book in bed.
Saturday afternoon I went to a hockey game of some of the ds's friends ... they are on a different team than he is ... so I went and cheered them on.
Saturday evening I got sick ... there I said it ... I was sick.
Sunday the ds had a hockey game, but I just couldn't bring myself to go in fear that I would get sick while I was there ... sorry buddy, I hate missing a game !!!
We watched the Patriots / Jets game ... WOO HOO !!! Go Pat's !!! We also watched the Eagles / Giants game ... the ds was VERY happy that the Eagles won.
I then stayed up and watched Desperate Houswives and Brothers & Sisters on ABC ...
I am not feeling all that great today ... am even thinking about going home early ... I just don't feel good.
*sigh*

I love ...
To be specific, I love the Red Sox. I can't wait much longer for the daily Spring Training reports ... I am perusing everyone's RS blogs, reading their opinions on what they hope for in the 2007 season ... and it just makes me long for our boys more ...
The ds got a nice Schilling jersey for Christmas ... and he's been wearing it a lot ... and he always has to wear it along with his B hat when he plays MLB on PS2 ... when Tessie comes on, he turns it up and sings !!!! I hope to get him to a Red Sox game this year ... I am going to try and take him to Minneapolis in May for a game or 2 ... there is also a series in Chicago in August that would work for us too ...
This summer I am PLANNING on Red Sox games in:
- Boston
- Minneapolis
- Chicago
I am also thinking about a weekend trip in May to Seattle - and there happens to be a home game while I am there ... with the MFY ...
ROAR !
So ... with that being said ... we started a fund ... the Meanie Monies Fund ...
Everytime we say something bad about someone (not including each other ... ) we pay a quarter !
We will then decide what we want to do with our pile of change !!!!
B.O.B.
It's someone's parent-given name ...
It's a verb ...
It was once my nickname in high school.
BOB - Bitch of Bitches ...
I don't know why I was thinking about that today ... but ... whatever ...
My friend 'Niffer summed it up best when she said that I hate the world, but the world loves me ... I find so much truth in that, and I think about it everyday.
*sigh*
Anyone know any other meanings of BOB ???
News of late ...
*sigh*
Moving on ...
Hockey went well last night ... the ds's team won 8-1 !!! Way to go boys & girls !!! We have another game on Sunday ... so I am hoping for a nice big win there too !
I am thinking about chopping off my hair ... I am going to make an appointment for tomorrow ... I don't know what I am going to do ... just make it short is all ! I don't have time to do anything with it, so it has to be easy maintenance !
Oh ... yes ... and on this day in baseball:
1/5/93 - Reggie Jackson is the lone player elected to the Hall of Fame. Jackson, whose .262 lifetime batting average is the lowest of any outfielder in the Hall, receives 93.6% of the vote. Jackson's 563 career home runs make him a hit with voters in his first year of eligibility.

Hockey Night !
Last night was a crazy one at our house ... just for the mere fact that the ds WOULD. NOT. LISTEN. It frustrates me to no end ... and when he continues to wake me up when I am sleeping ... for no reason other than to be a brat, which was the case ... then I am gonna be mad. I yelled at him last night, and now I feel bad ... but I stopped and bought him a doughnut and juice this morning as a special treat ... Sorry Sweet Boy ...
Well, let me not forget to mention that on this day, January 4th, 1957 - The Dodgers became the first team to own their own aircraft when the team bought a 44 passenger two-engine airplane for $775,000.

On this date in baseball ...
The secret deal made on 12/26/20 to sell Babe Ruth to the MFY (New York Yankees) for $125,000 (twice the amount ever paid previously for a player) is announced publicly. Harry Frazee, the cash strapped owner of the Red Sox also secures a $300,000 loan from the Yankees.
*sigh*
I truly dislike the MFY's ...
I'm tired today ...
I would like to send a shoutout to my good buddy, JTT, for fixing my blog last night. The stupid profile & links section moved to the bottom ... all on it's own ... LOL !

LOL !!! HAHAHAHAHA !!!
Today, I went back a couple of days into the archive, and happened across this MFY funny !!! Darryl Strawberry Intervenes
I WANT THIS !!!!

So ... yesterdays - January 1st - in Baseball History: 1/1/1961
Briggs Stadium officially becomes Tiger Stadium
I also like the quote that goes with that sheet ...
John K. Hutchens, literary & drama critic:
"No baseball fan has to explain his mania to any other baseball fan. They are a fraternity. It is less easy, often it is hopeless, to try to explain it to anyone else. You grow technical, and you do not make any sense. You grow sentimental and you are deemed soft in the head."

The Dodgers trade outfielder Casey Stengel and infielder George Cutshaw to the Pirates for pitchers Burleigh Grimes, Al mamaux, and infielder Chuck Ward.
The quote that went with it reminds me of a beloved Red Sox'er ...
"Casey Stengel just can't keep from being Casey Stengel."

Wrapping Up ...
2006 is coming to a close on Sunday. I think back to all that has happened this year ... and I can't really complain ... it's been a good year.

Scrooge ?
I am such a wicked awful crab today. I don't want to talk to anyone, and I am a talker - TRUST ME !
I just want to go home ... and relax ... I am just coming off of a 12 day vacation, and trying to adjust back to the real world again. *sigh*
Home ...
I unloaded the car last night, and set up some of the stuff for the ds because he wanted to play with his new toys ...
I took a shower, watched a movie, and went to sleep !!!
~ such a boring life ~

Merry Christmas !
I awoke to the ds shouting that
had come ... such a sweet child he is ...
We spent 2 hours opening gifts and laughing and taking pictures ... in the back of my mind I know that my vacation is coming to an end. I don't want to leave my mom.
The ds got a TON of stuff. WOW. He has already tried out about 4 of his new PS2 games. LOL !
I am thinking of putting in one of the many new DVD's that I received.
Here's to wishing everyone an enjoyable rest of the day ...

I'm back ...
Oh ... what a great time ... my little sweetheart was spoiled rotten, and everyone knew it !
We baked cookies, and read stories - and I would change the names in the stories to be about us and others in her (our family), and we colored pictures ... and opened presents .... and went shopping ... and told secrets ... and played "kitchen" ... and watched a movie ... and had bath time ... and played and played and PLAYED !!
A little girl is MUCH more than I am used to ... my ds is very low maintenance compared to this little girl ... but what a treasure she is ...
We went to someone's house to view their Christmas lights ... they have 3 acres of ALL LIGHTS ! It's BEAUTIFUL ... I will post pics at some point .... they had free smores ... and free hot cider & coffee with cookies ... and the kids saw Santa ... and they got a free winter hat w/ a commemorative patch.
WOW.
I wrapped some presents after a quick-mini, last-minute shopping trip this afternoon ... we just ordered some pizza ... so I have to go and pick that up ... will my day ever end ????
I'm not complaining !

another day of travel ...
Growing up as an only child, I bonded really close with him. We are only a year apart, and we are the best of friends ... I actually named my son after him ! LOL !
So, I am going to go and take care of their oldest daughter tomorrow - so we can have some good 'ol quality time together ... I just adore her and we are going to have a fun time.
I picked her and the ds up some new crayons and Christmas coloring books and some special snacks ... it's OUR DAY tomorrow ... and anything goes !!! Ice cream for breakfast ? Why Not !!! Cookies for lunch ? OK !!!! I don't get many opportunites to spoil her, so when I do get them I take advantage!!!
*********************************************************************************
Today - well tonight actually ... my home away from home ... The Enclave is one year old ! I don't know whether it's Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary ... but ... to all of my EB's ... it's been a great year ... we have so many memories together ... and I look forward to another year ... Ok ... I REALLY look forward to a summer trip to Boston with you all again, but that's neither here nor there !!!!

Just another day of ...
It is 3:00 pm and I am still in my jammies !
My parents, the ds, and I played a round of Red Sox Monopoly (my mother whooped us !) and then we played a couple of games of cribbage. Cribbage is good for the ds so he can work on his math skills and not even realize he's doing it !
I am bringing him over to his paternal grandparents for a couple hours here shortly ... and then we are going to my gramma's restaurant for dinner.
*sigh* I love not having to do anything ...
It's a nice day today - I did bring the dog out to his kennel ... so I have done SOMETHING today!
Tomorrow we are heading out to my cousins so I can see his daughters ... I will have them open their Christmas gifts early since I heard through the grapevine that my aunt & uncle are going out of town for the holiday. They don't tell their kids anything so I am bringing my gifts with as I fear they don't know not to come home for Christmas. How sad is that !
~ I'm off to get dressed now ... I can't be a bum all day !

holiday stress ...
I am going on vacation tomorrow and keep thinking maybe I shouldn't go - of course I am going to ... but I hate leaving my co-workers in the lurch. I can't help but think about it. I'm sorry (if you are reading this ...) I know that once I leave tomorrow, I will be fine. It's just today is the day I feel bad.
I have 1.5 million things to accomplish before I head out today. I need more time ! Wait ... maybe I just need to relax ... it will be fine. It can always wait until I return.
ok ... now my stomach hurts.

Pre-Holiday Gift Giving !
- Scrapbooking Stuff
- Red Sox Stuff
- Hinder's CD
So ... I opened my card ... and got a great gift card to a scrapbook store ... and then my wrapped present ... held this:

IMAGINE MY EXCITEMENT ! 12 months of wonderful men in uniform !!!!
On a sad note ... Trot Nixon is February ...
Baseball on my mind ...
I have decided (at least for now) that if I go ... I would like to go for a long weekend in May. Well, I had the idea of checking the Mariners schedule ... and the MFY's will be in town when I want to go.
We all know I am not a MFY fan ... but in my heart I am forever a Johnny fan ... in addition to loving the Red Sox.
How perfect would it be to see him play another game ?
So ... at this point in time ... I am thinking about going out for the Mariner/MFY series ... it could be a good time. At this point, I would also like to extend an invite to any of my EB's ... if they would care to join me ... for some reason ... a flight to Seattle ... is pretty damn cheap !

Middle of the week ...
It's Wednesday ... and tonight I am going to work on my Christmas cards a little more ... I need to get them done and mailed ... but I am not yet halfway there ... so any time I have to spare, will benefit the cause !
The ds and I put up the tree last night ... I let him put up all the ornaments ... I haven't been into all of the holiday decorating the past couple of years ... it's so much work ... I have to take down all my "regular" stuff ... to put up the holiday stuff ... I just don't have the time. My mother takes about 2 weeks to decorate ... 4 days to do the tree alone !
I would like to start wrapping some presents to put under the tree ... but the problem is ... I haven't bought much for the ds ... I just do NOT know what to get him. He wants a PS3 ... but I am not getting that this year. I want them to work out the bugs first ... for that amount of money, I want to feel comfortable with my purchase.
*sigh* I am ready for my holiday vacation ...
Tuesday, December 05, 2006
Whew ...
We had a late hockey practice last night ... but the kids had a good time - they scrimmaged and it went by fast. We have practice again tonight ... and then again Friday. Not to shabby !
Tonight I am going to have to work on Christmas cards again ... I need to get these done, and out in the mail ...
Kristi called last night ... to confirm those that have "rsvp'd" for the Redneck Reunion Take 2 ... it may be quieter this time ... apparently we are planning on ice fishing ... whatever ... as long as I can drink, I will be fine. I need to cut loose, and relax, and "bond" with some friends. I need to take it easy ... I need a day for me !
Monday, December 04, 2006
GEE WHIZ !!!!
I have corrected the problem and am once again happy with all things blogged ...
So ... uh ... I really have nothing to say ... except that I am back in color !
falling ...
We had a busy weekend ... 2 hockey games for the ds ... and shopping for me ...
Last night I talked to my friend Kristi ... we are planning a party back home the week before Christmas ... Redneck Reunion Take 2 ! We had so much fun in September, that we decided to do it again.
A bunch of friends are going to head North for a weekend of drinking, talking, shooting, and fishing ... we may pull the tractor out for a midnight spin ! It's a great time, time to catch up and talk about the days gone by ... play a few time honored drinking games ... and pretend we are young ... like when we all met !
I will need to print out the pictures I took from the September party to handout ... there are a couple of really funny ones ...

Am I being punished ?
Last night was a night from hell. I'm not kidding.
I was talking to my aunt last night ... yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of my cousins death and my aunt is still taking it very hard. I try to be there for her, so she can vent whatever she needs to so she can feel better without others judging her. I believe it is healthy for her to have those feelings and she needs a way to get through them, and that's me. She has come a long way.
My step-mom called last night to let me know that my father had a heart attack on Monday. He is now home from the hospital as of last night. He needed 3 stints put in.
I feel like everytime I talk to them all I get is bad news. My fathers has cancer. It's in the liver, lung, and kidney. He has a cancer nodule in his chest too. I just don't know how much more I can take. He is still active, and working to treat his cancer, so we hope that this heart attack was a blessing of sorts to get more blood flow and make him stronger.
I am not that close to my father, which was his doing. His life choices made it that way. When I was 15 we started getting together for a week or two in the summer. I feel anger towards him for denying me of a father as a child ... and I am working on getting over my anger and resentment, so I am not ready to lose him.
Then to top off the night, I called my mother because I was so upset. She too was at the doctor yesterday for the pain she has in her back. It turns out she is going to need a new hip eventually ... She is going to try whatever she needs to to put off getting this surgery.
My mother is my everything. I can't stand the thought of anything happening to her.
So ... my life sucks ... but I will get through it ... it's who I am.

Elephant ... Poo ? WTF ?!?!?!?
I hate poo ... Poo Paper
Oh well ... I still love her ...
** yawn **
I worked on my Christmas cards last night - I brought them into work today to show some of my fellow scrapbooking friends and get their opinions. If they were no good, then why bother continuing to make them, right ? I have 12 or 13 done so far ... I did 5 last night in 2 hours ... I need to move a little faster, eh ? But, the cards were made with love ...
It's getting very cold out ... today I wish I had a hat ... but I never wear one ... I need to get out the gloves and scarves too.
Last night, a package came from Target.com ... the ds is so upset and doesn't think it's fair that I get all these packages. I had to explain to him that I am ordering Christmas gifts ... so I am not buying stuff for me ... well, I have been doing that too, but he need not know that ! *sigh* just more crap for the holidays.
have a pleasant day ... stay warm !

news of ... nothing !
Tonight ... the ds is going to disect a deer heart. On Sunday he was running water through the valves and playing with it in the sink. He got this heart from his gramma ... so he decided to make it part of a school assignment and he is going to write a report about it. He seems very interested ... so that's good.
Being the good, and somewhat squeamish, mother that I am ... I will take a couple of photos of him in his studies ... for the sake of his report.
So, Mel ... that was for you ... didn't want to keep you in suspense !
NOTE: The deer heart was from a legal deer kill from the MN deer hunting season.
early ...
The ds lost his front tooth last night. He got hit in the face with a football at school. It is a clean break and was a LITTLE wiggly ... and they found the tooth ... so that's a good thing. The Tooth Fairy even made an appearance last night ... $5.00 !!!! Jeepers !
I am feeling a little stress lately ... at work. It's not a bad stress where I get mad and hate the world, but an internal feeling of stress. It's hard to explain.
Tonight I am working on some more Christmas cards ... I need to get them done and mailed out ! I usually have them done by now, and that's only because I usually buy them. Why did I decide to make them this year ?????
I have a deep need to have baseball back right now. I don't want to sit and wait to see what's going to come in the 2007 season. I want it to be the 2007 season NOW. I want to (hopefully) plan a repeat event from last year. I want to attend the 2nd Annual Enclavian Slumber Party in the fine city of Boston and gather at the "holy" Fenway Park.

-No Time -
I am feeling under the weather a little bit ... just not feeling like myself.
We had hockey last night ... The weather was 45 degrees and raining yesterday - it was EXTRA cold in the arena last night because of the warmer weather outside. BRRRRR ... I had to go and sit in the warming area ... and I don't usually do that.
We have 2 games this weekend ... so it's not gonna be a quiet one. I am hoping the ds's father shows up ... we called him last night to let him know the times ... the ds would be happy to see him.
I just wanted to send a quick shout out to my Enclavian Sistah's ... You are all awesome for the world, and I sincerely treasure you all ...

*Sneeze*
Anyhoo .... *sigh* It's another Monday. The weekend was lovely ... I was sad to see my parents leave. I will see them over Christmas though for 10 days, and they will be back down in February I believe ... for the ds's hockey game. I can live with that !
Yesterday was a VERY lazy day. I took the ds to see "Flushed Away". The theatre was packed ... I am not kidding. The movie ranked very low in my opinion ... and I love movies, so my opinion matters!
We then went to the scrapbook store ... where I purchased the stuff to make my holiday cards. Uh ... $75.00 later we left. I knew I should have just gone to the Hallmark store to buy my cards ... would have been A LOT cheaper ... Anyone want me to send you one ? I'm kidding ! I made 7 of them yesterday, and they are all different. I don't know that I want to make all 40 of them ... oh well, lesson learned I guess. Maybe I will do it again, only I will start earlier in the year !
Well ... I have some stuff to do ... adios ...
Friday, November 24, 2006
oh goodness ...
Well ... I should go take a nap ... but the ds has hockey practice in 2 hours ... and I don't want to be a crab ... there's time to sleep in tomorrow.
I did a little shopping on line today on my lunch ... a couple of Christmas gifts ... and some stuff for me ... I deserve some stuff, right ? LOL !
The day after ...
I had a wonderful day with my family yesterday. We threw around the football in the backyard ... we had a wonderful meal ... and just spent time together. * I am thankful for my family everyday. *
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I will be back later ...

Just another manic ...
What a long hellish night ... the ds had hockey practice, and I had a lot of housework to get done. Well ... I didn't get much done ... the house is clean and all ... but I wanted to get much more accomplished. Big Deal. I give up. I don't care.
I bought 2 new movies last night ... "You, Me, and Dupree" and "Accepted" ... Both are wicked funny ... I needed that - a few laughs ...
... more later ... I have stuff to do ... ciao!

I woke up ...
I went in the bathroom to get ready for work, and cranked up some music. I was a singing fool this morning. I sing EVERY morning but I did it more so today. Today's choice of music was actually Carrie Underwood. Surprising, I know!
I watched Prison Break last night - only 1 more show until the fall finale. I HATE these "fall finale's" ... dumb I tell you. Well, it was still a good episode.
I started a new book last night. Some new Jackie Collins drama-filled smut book. LOL ! So far so good.
Well ... enough for now. I heard your yawns over the speakers on my computer ...

Nada ...
- Balanced my check book
- Checked out E-Bay
- Ragged on 'Nifer for being a SW !
- Sent 4 new emails
- Sent 1 text message
- Visited the Enclave
wow. exciting. NOT !
I need a haircut. I haven't cut it in months. I tell myself it's ok to grow it out, let it get long again, but I need a change. BTW, I do this all the time. I say I want a change, but I really don't. I like being able to just throw it up in a half-pony or stick it in a RS hat ... so don't pay any attention.
Another Monday !
I did NOT want to wake up this morning, but I did ... obviously.
The ds came home yesterday - with an attitude! We had a birthday party to go to. It was at the Gymnastics Center at the University ... OMG ! It was so fun. I even took a turn on the obstacle course, whew ... I can understand why the kids were tired.
I am really into this show, Brothers & Sisters, on ABC. Last night's episode, was another great show. I was happy to see things work out in their family (yes, I realize it's not a reality show, but I still get involved in the storyline).
*yawn* I really wish I could go home, climb the stairs, and crawl back into bed under the warm covers. *slaps herself* I can't think like that ... the day has just begun !
Anyone have anything exciting to share ?
** Also, would like to share my happiness with the Patriots beating the Pack ... someone up above has answered my prayers yet again. **

Surprise !
Novy makes a surpise appearance ... lol !
Hockey went really last night. The ds went with his father for the weekend ... he'll be home in time to go to a friends birthday party. YAY! *Note: take advil beforehand*
I went home, made some soup, watched a little tv, and fell asleep. Sounds super exciting doesn't it? Uh, yeah ... it's not.
I'm still a little tired ... I got some work to get done today, I have busted through a lot already, but it's still early.
Have a great weekend!

WTH ?!?
B-A-N-A-N-A's
Watched my Grey's Anatomy last night. It was good, as usual. No complaints from me today, well, no complaints about the show.
I woke up to the phone ringing at 2:37 this morning. I hate it when people think they can call my damn house any damn time they want. I didn't answer, and it was a PRIVATE CALLER ... they didn't leave a message ... I hate the fact that I have to shut the ringer off on my bedroom phone at night, but ... I'll keep doing it if I have to though. It just ticks me off ... cause now my precious sleep was cut short ...
Good Lawd ... I love reading this site everyday ... it just cracks me up ... The Dugout

Counting ...
O
W
N
to Thanksgiving.
I am so anxious to have my mom and dad here. I will have to get busy and get the house from comfortably, lived in messy ... to MOM CLEAN ! Nothing out of place ... I think they are bringing Beau dog with ... so the ds will be very happy.
I am still planning to veg out on Saturday. I may go into work for a few hours and then I think 'Nifer is going to bring Honey B over and we'll watch a movie. I told her if she brings the movie, I will make the garlic dip. I have forewarned her that I will be in my jammie pants ... LOL !

Shake, shake, shake ...
HAHA ... This was on the radio on my way into work this morning ... and now it's stuck in my head. Good Lawd ! Everyday it's a new song ... and I sing it all day long.
The ds had hockey pictures last night, and I think they will turn out good. Yesterday was a very taxing day on me, and seeing the cute little kids in their gear, posing for pictures literally brought some tears to my eyes yesterday. Seeing the joy in these kids faces as they were out there, on the ice, waiting their turn with the photographer was pure bliss.
I did it. I bought the Da Vinci Code last night ... but I didn't have time to watch it. I think I am going to wait until Friday or Saturday ... and I'll curl up on the couch downstairs and turn up the surround sound. I am childless this weekend, and it's gonna be all about me ... maybe I'll pamper myself a little bit ... or something ...
Congrats to the Red Sox for their winning bid ... for what ? The right to TALK to Japan's Matsuzaka ... to negotiate a contract with the Red Sox. I am all for it ... it's not my money - well, I suppose it KIND of is ... ya know, all the merchandise and tickets and crap, whatever. I digress. They have 30 days to come to a deal w/ his agen, Scott "Scumbag" Bore-Ass ... uh, sorry - maybe he's a nice guy (not) ... but after the whole Johnny deal and the whispers in his ear and the lies ... well, I don't like him.
As long as the MFY's didn't get him ... then I am as happy as a clam. Even though I hate clams.

Slow Down ...
Jack took a long look at his speedometer before slowing down: 73 in a 55zone. Fourth time in as many months. How could a guy get caught so often?
When his car had slowed to 10 miles an hour, Jack pulled over, but only partially. Let the cop worry about the potential traffic hazard. Maybe some other car will tweak his backside with a mirror. The cop was stepping out of his car, the big pad in hand.
Bob? Bob from Church? Jack sunk farther into his trench coat. This was worse than the coming ticket. A cop catching a guy from his own church. A guy who happened to be a little eager to get home after a long day at the office. A guy he was about to play golf with tomorrow.
Jumping out of the car, he approached a man he saw every Sunday, a man he'd never seen in uniform.
"Hi, Bob. Fancy meeting you like this."
"Hello, Jack." No smile.
"Guess you caught me red-handed in a rush to see my wife and kids."
"Yeah, I guess." Bob seemed uncertain Good.
"I've seen some long days at the office lately. I'm afraid I bent the rules a bit - just this once."Jack toed at a pebble on the pavement. "Diane said something about roast beef and potatoes tonight. Know what I mean?"
"I know what you mean. I also know that you have a reputation in our precinct ." Ouch. This was not going in the right direction. Time to change tactics.
"What'd you clock me at?"
"Seventy. Would you sit back in your car please?"
"Now wait a minute here, Bob. I checked as soon as saw you. I was barely nudging 65." The lie seemed to come easier with every ticket.
"Please, Jack, in the car."
Flustered, Jack hunched himself through the still-open door. Slamming it shut, he stared at the dashboard. He was in no rush to open the window. The minutes ticked by. Bob scribbled away on the pad.Why hadn't he asked for a driver's license? Whatever the reason, it would be a month of Sundays before Jack ever sat near this cop again.
A tap on the door jerked his head to the left. There was Bob, a folded paper in hand. Jack rolled down the window a mere two inches, just enough room for Bob to pass him the slip. "Thanks." Jack could not quite keep the sneer out of his voice.
Bob returned to his police car without a word. Jack watched his retreat inthe mirror. Jack unfolded the sheet of paper. How much was this one going to cost?
Wait a minute. What was this? Some kind of joke? Certainly not a ticket. Jack began to read:
"Dear Jack,
Once upon a time I had a daughter. She was six when killed by a car. You guessed it- a speeding driver. A fine and three months in jail, and the man was free. Free to hug his daughters, all three of them. I only had one, and I'm going to have to wait until Heaven before I can ever hug her again.
A thousand times I've tried to forgive that man. A thousand times Ithought I had. Maybe I did, but I need to do it again. Even now. Pray for me. And be careful, Jack, my son is all I have left.
Bob "
Jack turned around in time to see Bob's car pull away and head down the road. Jack watched until it disappeared. A full 15 minutes later, he too, pulled away and drove slowly home, praying for forgiveness and hugging asurprised wife and kids when he arrived.

A chill in the air ...
*sigh*
The weekend was much too short. Instead of having1 friend stay over this weekend, the ds had 2. Everyone had a nice time ... they played ALOT of PS2 ... All boys are hockey players, so they were chatting about that and I set up the net in the driveway so they were shooting all morning.
I have not yet watched The DaVinci Code, and it comes out on DVD tomorrow. I am going to buy it, and hope it's good. Anyone seen it ?
Ugh ... I tried to avoid football yesterday. I did see that the Green Gay Packers beat the Vikings though ... most unfortunate. I don't know what it is, but I do NOT like the damn packers ... yuck.
Well ... I have a lot to get done ... but I will be back ... I am kind of spacey today ... so I just don't know how to express myself this morning.

WTF !!??!!??!!

Another day ...
First and foremost ... HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE !
We are in for 4-7 inches of snow through tomorrow. YIKES !! I'm not ready for this yet. You would think I would be ... coming from Northern Minnesota and all ... but ... yuck. Winter is NOT my favorite season ... it's my least favorite to be completely honest with you.
I did a little bit of on-line shopping yesterday. I got my dad some clothes from Cabella's and my mom ... well ... I'm not gonna say ... but it's something BEAUTIFUL. She will love it.
I am going to do some scrapbook shopping today for some holiday paper ... I want to be ready ... My mother asked for me to bring some stuff home so we can scrap over Christmas. She would like to learn, so I'm going to buy some paper I think she will enjoy ...
So ... today I will shop a little more on my lunch break ... I thought of a few more gifts I would like to buy. I am trying to avoid the mall this holiday shopping season AT ALL COSTS !
The ds is having a sleep-over at the house this weekend ... Better stock of on Advil !
Anything exciting for anyone else this weekend ?

Thirsty Thursday ...
Gee ... last night I watched the "fall finale" of LOST. How dumb is that? I don't want to have to wait until friggin February to watch another episode. URGH !
Oh ... and I believe my folks are coming for Thanksgiving. That will be nice ... I wonder if they will bring me a tree ? I had an artificial one last year, and I didn't like it, but then again, I'm going home for Christmas so maybe I should just use the fake one again. *sigh* At least I will have real trees at my mom's.
Growing up in Minnesota was awesome. Seriously. I didn't drive until I was 17 - I didn't need to. I had a snowmobile to drive around to get me to work during the winter and a 4-wheeler to use in the summer, spring, and fall. I kid you not, I would WALK to a friends house in -40 degree weather, because I didn't want to stay home ... and wanted to hang out ... and then I would convince my dad to come and pick me up somehow ... LOL ...
The weather is grand today - we will be in the 70's - and then we are in for 4-7 inches of snow on Friday sometime ... tis the hockey season you know!
I also wanted to let my EB's know ... that I have been "reliving" our Enclavian Red Sox Game ... and watching the tape. Wow ... that reallly was a long game ...
Well ... happy wishes for a wonderful day ...

Teddy Bears ...
A woman meets a man in a bar. They talk; they connect; they end up leaving together to his place.
The man shows her around his apartment, she notices that one wall of his bedroom is completely filled with soft, sweet, cuddly teddy bears. There are three shelves in the bedroom, with hundreds and hundreds of cute, cuddly teddy bears, carefully placed in rows covering the entire wall! It was obvious that he had taken quite some time to lovingly arrange them and she was immediately touched by the amount of thought he had put into organizing the display. There were small bears all along the bottom shelf, medium-sized bears covering the length of the middle shelf, and huge, enormous bears running all the way along the top shelf. She found it strange for an obviously masculine guy to have such a large a collection of Teddy Bears but doesn't mention this to him and actually is quite impressed by his sensitive side.
They share a bottle of wine and continue talking and, after a while, She finds herself thinking,
"Oh my God! Maybe, this guy could be the one! Maybe he could be the future father of my children?"
She turns to him and kisses him lightly on the lips. He responds warmly. They continue to kiss, the passion builds, and he romantically lifts her in his arms and carries her into his bedroom where they rip off each other's clothes and make hot, steamy love. She is so overwhelmed that she responds with more passion, more creativity, and more heat than she has ever known.
After an intense, explosive night of raw passion with this sensitive guy, they are lying there together in the afterglow. The woman rolls over, gently strokes his chest and asks coyly,
"Well, how was it?"
The guy gently smiles at her, strokes her cheek, looks deeply into her eyes, and says,
"Help yourself to anything on the second row."

A little of this ...
*sigh*
It's gonna be a long day.
I came into work early today and we have hockey tonight, so who knows when I will get home.
I have some errands to run after hockey, I suppose I could do them DURING practice, but I prefer to be there to watch. What if something happened to me driving in rush hour traffic, and the ds was done with practice, waiting for me? It's just better to wait there. I keep my MP3 player in my purse so I can zone out on the game and listen to some good tunes.
The ds is having a friend sleepover this weekend. He needed to make sure his room was clean last night ... and he did an excellent job. I was very proud. So, if he keeps it that way until Friday, I will put the PS2 in his room. It beats having the kids playing video games in my room ... then I can have some peace !
OOOH ... and I watched Prison Break on FOX last night ... it was awesome ... you can't trust anyone apparently.
... Wishing everyone a wonderful day ... the weather is great here today, so that's got me in a smiling mood ... (for now)

ROTFLMAO !
The NEW NYY logo ...

Ass Wipes !
LOVIN IT ! Thanks to my dear friend JTT ...
Happy Monday!
The weekend went by so fast. It was very nice - relaxing - quiet.
The ds had hockey on Saturday. It went really well, I was proud of how hard he was working out there.
We went out for lunch on Saturday. Nothing fancy - I just didn't feel like cooking. When do I ever? We just hung out and had a quiet day. We each read a book and just chilled.
Sunday we went to see The Santa Clause III ... what a cute movie this is! It helped me get a little excited for the upcoming holiday season. This will pass I am sure, but I hope it stays. It's been rough these past couple of Christmas's ... I just haven't been enjoying the decorating or baking. I have so much other stuff going on that it is more of a nuisance than anything. I have been giving myself the pep talk ... hopefully this year will be different.
The Christmas shopping has taken it's toll on me as well. I hate the other shoppers. Last year I actually yelled at a woman that is was because of her rudeness that I hate the holidays. I felt like I was falling off the deep end. So, this year, I vow to do as much online or catalog shopping as humanly possible.

Once again ...
I just want to say a couple of quick things.
To my current (and as of 2:00 today will be FORMER) co-worker - GEGEN-MONSTER: I wish you all the happiness I can offer. It was honestly a joy to get to work with you, and loan you out movies ... and you never know, Punch Drunk Love may just magically appear on your door step. If you ever have a movie request, you know my email address!

To my Enclavian Sistah Mellie ... HAVE A SAFE TRIP ! Have a good time, enjoy every moment. We'll talk to you when you get back ...
And ... finally ... to my new co-worker DuF ... pleasure having you aboard !

Happy Birthday Belle !

Busy, busy, busy ...
*SIGH*
Today I have so much to do. I have a 4 hour training this morning ... and it has me feeling a little overwhelmed. However, I keep telling myself " I am Novy, I can accomplish anything because I am strong enough to push through and stand tall. I have the confidence it takes to tackle this new project ..." ok ... LOL ... I think if I really say that I will start to laugh ... but, it was a good pep talk!
Tonight we have hockey again ... and I'm going to miss Ugly Betty ! I will just make it home in time to watch Grey's Anatomy which is a MUST SEE !! Can't. Miss. One. Second.
Ugh ... I have this back pain today ... so I am running on about 3 hours of sleep. No matter how I lay, I was in pain. So, nothing is in my favor today. :(
HAVE A GOOD DAY !

- sweet -
I have received this email a few times in the past couple years, and it always makes me misty eyed, as I am such a romantic at heart. LOL!
A girl asked a guy if he thought she was pretty, He said...no.
She asked him if he would want to be with her forever...and he said no.
She then asked him if she were to leave would he cry, and once again he replied with a no.
She had heard enough. As she walked away, tears streaming down her face the boy grabbed her arm and said...
You're not pretty you're beautiful.
I don't want to be with you forever, I NEED to be with you forever.
And I wouldn't cry if you walked away...I'd die...
Chilly ...
I tood the ds trick or treating last night ... and boy, was it cold ! We went for about 2 hours and I couldn't take anymore, so we went out for dinner. We both had a cup of hot chocolate and it hurt my teeth I was so cold.
Ah, but the ds got a ton of candy I will probably end up throwing away because he will forget about it or get tired of it for a while. Thank goodness. There is a local dentist who pays you for your halloween candy by the pound ... I should do that!
Well, 'Nifer is off to ol Mississippi ... if she drove straight through, she would be there by now, but I haven't heard from her yet. I hope she stopped for a couple hours of sleep though, that's a long haul when you are driving by yourself.
I am lost right now. My friend Mel said it best when she asked "Is it baseball season yet?" ... I'm ready ... I want it back. I need something to focus on.
